Total Man Rio Bravo

May began with a highly anticipated men’s meeting held in Rio Bravo on a pleasantly cool Saturday afternoon. Rio Bravo is one of the first churches in Mexico planted in the mid-1990s by several men from World Harvest Edinburg. On this day, the Edinburg men joined Rio Bravo’s monthly men’s gathering.

Several men who had previously visited Rio Bravo returned, ready to minister the Word and fellowship. Mattias, Leo, Nick, Herminio, and Willy came together to sharpen one another in the Word and in faith. The Edinburg men were especially blessed to see how much the building has been beautifully improved, including the addition of a courtyard and an outdoor chimney used for cooking—which, of course, was put to good use that day.
The men gathered inside the church, forming a circle so they could better see and hear one another. Each of the Edinburg men shared the Word, and it was well received. Mattias spoke on giving and preaching the gospel, sharing personal experiences from when he first came to the Lord. Herminio shared about fulfilling the ministry that the Lord has given each of us. Leo then spoke about the glory of the Lord that was evident during a memorial service honoring his mother. He shared how he had prayed for people to believe during that time, and how the Lord gave a dream and a vision to one of his nephews, who then came to faith. Nick followed by sharing on the blessings and impact of obedience to the Lord, also supported by personal testimonies.
After the message, food was served, and everyone enjoyed a traditional Rio Bravo meal—tacos de bistek and tripa with all the condiments: onion, cilantro, lemon, and, of course, homemade salsas. The men of Rio Bravo excel in many things, but they truly stand out in their cooking!

Following the meal, the men laid hands on one another, and prophetic words were shared. It was a truly glorious time in the Lord.
The men gather monthly for the Word and fellowship, and much fruit has been seen in the local churches. The Edinburg men returned home grateful, having had a wonderful time in Rio Bravo and a smooth journey back across the bridge.
